Through a contract with the State of Kansas, the Children’s Alliance coordinates the delivery of training for child welfare case managers and supervisors working for SRS and the five Child Welfare Case Management Providers. Online Pre-Service Training

The CWCMP Pre-service Online Training course is designed to provide new case managers a basic knowledge of their roles and responsibilities as child welfare professionals. This course provides many tools and handouts helpful in child welfare work. It is designed to allow printing material and handouts during progression through the course to keep for future reference. Those who complete the course will be able to return to this course later to use it as an ongoing tool and resource.
This course is “self-directed”, which means there is no time limit (or time requirement) for completion. Help is available online and by email.

Ongoing Case Management Trainings

In order to provide SRS and CWCMP Case Managers an opportunity to enhance their skills in providing services to children and their families, two Case Management Trainer of Trainers (TOT) are developed per contract year. After delivery of the TOT, agency trainers will be able to provide training to their staff that is consistent for all child welfare case managers across the State.
Ongoing Supervisor Trainings

Historically, child welfare professions experience a high turnover rate due to the type of work and demands placed on workers. Providing supervisors with opportunities to develop the skills needed to support and guide their staff, will help agencies increase competence and worker satisfaction. Two Supervisory Trainer of Trainers (TOT) are developed per contract year, which are designed to deliver new techniques and develop supervisory skills. After delivery of the TOT, agency trainers will be able to provide training to their staff that is consistent for all child welfare supervisors across the State.
