Foster Care in Kansas is provided through a network of non‐profit child welfare agencies. These agencies provide an array of services ranging from foster care all the way to our psychiatric residential treatment programs. Children in the foster care system are all in the custody of the state. The majority of children in foster care are in placement because of abuse and or neglect in the home.
